이광범 특별검사팀의 내곡동 사저 헐값 매입 사건 수사는 끝났으나 이명박 대통령 일가의 재산을 둘러싼 의혹은 끊이지 않고 있다. 이 대통령 아들 이시형씨가 살고 있는 아파트의 전세대금 7억여원 중 3억8100만원이 청와대 직원들한테서 나온 것일 뿐 아니라 사용된 돈 가운데 1억4000만원은 ‘1만원짜리 구권 화폐’였던 것으로 확인됐다. 이미 2008년 비비케이 특검 당시 130억원대 비자금이 발견된 데 이어 이번에 다시 미심쩍은 돈의 흐름이 확인됨에 따라 이 돈이 혹시 이 대통령의 비자금이 아니냐는 의심이 강하게 제기되는 것이다.

The people need the truth on First Family’s assets
Special prosecutor Lee Kwang-bum may have ended his team’s investigation into irregularities in the purchasing of a property for President Lee Myung-bak’s retirement, but questions about the family’s assets remain. Not only did US$351,000 of US$644,000 key deposit for son Si-hyeong’s apartment come from a Blue House employee, but US$129,000 of the money used was paid in old 10,000-won bills from before the note’s 2007 redesign. This suspicious flow of money, coming after previous revelations of a secret fund totaling more than 13 billion won at the time of the 2008 special prosecutor’s investigation into BBK, has many questioning whether this case might be something similar.
