The push to keep the current 24-month term of required military service is once again gathering pace. Some time ago, a presidential committee on national security mentioned the possibility of not reducing the required service period to 18 months. Now, another committee on the development of national defense has reportedly expressed the same opinion.
합당한 근거 없는 ‘군 복무기간 연장’ 안 된다
정부 안에서 일반 병사의 군 복무기간을 24개월로 환원하려는 움직임이 빨라지고 있다. 얼마 전 대통령 직속 국가안보총괄점검회의가 복무기간 환원 얘기를 꺼낸 데 이어 국방선진화추진위원회에서도 같은 주장이 나왔다.
