Does a policy strengthen national security or place the country in even greater danger? This is the fundamental question when it comes to the discussions on the country’s defense posture that have recently been taking place between the military and the government. Ideas once dismissed as unfeasible and unrealistic are now being revived left, right and center with little grounds whatsoever.

안보를 튼튼하게 하는 것인가, 되레 안보를 위태롭게 만드는 것인가. 군과 정부에서 최근 전개되는 국방 대응태세 논의들은 이런 근본적 의문을 갖게 한다. 타당성과 현실성이 없는 것으로 치부됐던 아이디어들이 별 근거도 없이 불쑥불쑥 되살아나고 있기 때문이다.
