A law pertaining to limiting the hiring of non-regular workers for more than two years went into effect yesterday. The undeniable reality is that while the pathway has been opened for workers who have worked more than two years since signing their work contracts in July 2007 to become regular workers, many irregular workers are in danger of being fired. Furthermore, the solution is clear. In order to boost job stability, block irregular workers from being fired and push for them to become regular workers. Now is the time to mobilize all realistic policy means to do this.
정부는 공기업의 비정규직 해고부터 막아야
비정규직 노동자의 사용기간을 2년으로 제한한 비정규직 관련법이 어제부터 시행에 들어갔다. 2007년 7월 이후 근로계약을 체결해 근무기간이 2년이 넘은 노동자들이 정규직으로 전환될 수 있는 길이 열린 반면, 상당수 비정규직 노동자들이 해고 위험에 처하게 된 것도 숨길 수 없는 현실이다. 따라서 해답은 이미 정해져 있다. 비정규직 노동자들의 실직 사태를 최대한 막고 정규직 전환을 촉진해서 일자리의 안정성을 높이는 일이다. 이를 위해 현실적으로 가능한 모든 정책 수단을 동원해야 할 때다.
