GM Daewoo is at a crossroads of life and death. Ray Young, the General Motors (GM) vice president and chief financial officer, made clear the position yesterday that it will not come to GM Daewoo’s financial rescue. General Motors is running on money from U.S. taxpayers, so it is unable to make new investments in overseas corporations.
지엠대우 해법, 정치논리에 휘둘리지 말아야
지엠대우가 생사의 기로에 서게 됐다. 레이 영 지엠 부사장 겸 최고재무책임자는 그제 지엠 본사가 지엠대우에 대한 자금 지원을 해줄 수 없다는 입장을 분명히했다. 본사가 미국 정부로부터 구제금융을 받아 세금으로 운영되고 있기 때문에 국외 법인에 새롭게 투자할 수 없다는 얘기다.
