The first thing United States President Barack Obama did after being inaugurated was issue executive orders closing the detention center at the U.S. base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and prohibiting the use of torture. He also ordered the closing of Central Intelligence Agency prisons outside the country. It was a declaration that he is going to clearly separate himself form the habitual abuses of official power of the administration of former President George W. Bush.
공권력 남용에 선 그은 오바마
버락 오바마 미국 대통령이 취임 뒤 첫 조처의 하나로 쿠바 관타나모기지 안 테러 용의자 수용소를 폐쇄하고 고문을 금지하는 행정명령을 발표했다. 국외 중앙정보국 감옥도 없앴다. 조지 부시 전 행정부 시기의 상습적인 공권력 남용과 분명하게 단절하겠다는 선언이다.
