In his administrative policy speech on next year’s budget plan in front of the National Assembly yesterday, President Lee Myung-bak called for cooperation across party lines and the participation of citizens in the face of the international economic crisis. But far from being convincing, the speech was exceedingly hollow. Not only was its diagnosis and understanding of the problem greatly divorced from reality, the president’s words and actions betrayed another self-contradictory image throughout.
‘국민 동참’ 끌어낼 진심 안 보이는 시정연설
이명박 대통령이 어제 새해 예산안에 대한 국회 시정연설에서 국제적인 경제위기를 맞아 초당적인 협력과 국민의 동참을 호소했다. 그러나 대통령의 연설은 설득력은커녕 매우 공허했다. 문제에 대한 진단이나 인식이 현실과 크게 동떨어져 있는데다 말과 행동이 다른 자기 모순적 모습이 곳곳에 드러나 있기 때문이다.
