There was a particularly high amount of interest in a “Joint Government-Private Sector Meeting to Encourage Investment and Create Jobs” at the Blue House yesterday. The executive branch and business leaders had gathered in one place to see if they could find an effective way to deal with the current financial crisis. No grand blueprint emerged, however, and it was disappointing to see the same old same old, with the administration appealing to big business to just invest more.
투자 확대보다 위기 진정 우선해야
어제 청와대에서 열린 ‘투자 활성화와 일자리 확대를 위한 민관합동회의’에 유난히 관심이 쏠렸다. 정부와 경제계 대표들이 한자리에 모였으니 혹시 현 금융위기를 헤쳐나갈 뾰족한 대책이 나오지 않을까 해서였다. 하지만, 금융위기를 진정시킬 큰그림은 보이지 않고, 정부가 기업들에 투자를 늘려달라고 호소하는 구태의연한 모습만 보여 실망스럽다.
