During most of his five-day, four-night visit to Vietnam, North Korean Prime Minister Kim Yong-il spent most of his time at “economic sites” in order to see the infrastructure guiding Vietnam’s high economic growth first hand, and to talk about specific ways to promote economic cooperation between the two countries. One of the places he stopped by was the major port city of Haiphong. It is what the leaders of North and South Korea had in mind as their model for Haeju when they agreed to develop it as a special zone at the inter-Korean summit held in early October.
주목되는 북한의 ‘도이머이 배우기’
어제까지 4박5일 동안 베트남을 방문한 김영일 북한 총리 일행이 일정 대부분을 경제현장 답사에 할애했다. 고도성장을 이끄는 베트남의 기간 시설을 직접 눈으로 보고, 두 나라 사이 경협 강화 방안을 구체화하고자 함이다. 방문지 가운데는 최고 항구도시인 하이퐁도 포함됐다. 이 도시는 이달 초 남북 정상회담에서 특구로 개발하기로 합의한 해주의 모델로 꼽힌다.
