While some of Korea’s big conglomerates have announced their own measures for improving conditions for their irregular employees, the government announced on June 25 its own version for irregular government employees. According plans authored by its ‘‘Committee on Irregular Workers in Government Agencies,’’ of the 200,000 people working with period-specific contracts at government ministries and public agencies, 71,861, or 35 percent, will be given contract positions with no time limit.
기업보다 나을 게 없는 정부의 비정규직 대책
일부 대기업들이 비정규직 개선 대책을 발표한 데 이어 어제는 정부가 공공 부문 대책을 내놨다. 공공기관 비정규직 대책 추진위가 발표한 내용을 보면, 정부 부처와 공공기관에서 일하는 20만명의 기간제 노동자 가운데 35% 정도인 7만1861명이 기한 없는 계약직으로 전환될 예정이다.
