Defense Minister Kim Jang-soo is reported to have told U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates on June 2 in Singapore that he would understand if the United States Forces Korea (USFK) uses Korea's financial contribution to USFK's stationing here for 2007-2008 as part of the payment for moving the U.S. military facility at Yongsan to Pyeongtaek. That turns what the Korean Defense Ministry has said about the base move so far into a lie. His one single comment involves trillions of won and makes taxpayers, the Korean people, fools.
국방부 장관의 대국민 거짓말
김장수 국방부 장관이 지난 2일 싱가포르에서 로버트 게이츠 미국 국방부 장관과 만나 “2007~08년 방위비 분담금을 (주한미군) 기지 이전에 사용하는 것은 이해하고 있다”고 말했다고 한다. 미군기지 이전과 관련된 이제까지 국방부의 언급을 거짓말로 만드는 발언이다. 이 발언 하나에 걸린 돈만도 수조원에 이른다. 납세자인 국민을 바보로 만드는 행태다.
