A recent survey shows that the number of non-regular workers at Jeju Special Self-Governing provincial office and other related agencies are 2037, amounting to 31.2 percent of 6511 public servants in Jeju, which means 3 out of 10 are non-regular workers. Jeju branches of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions, The Korean Government Employees' Union and the Democratic Labor Party Dec. 25 revealed the results of their survey on the current situation of non-regular workers at Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and other related agencies. They insisted that there still remained violations of the Labor Standard Act and urged the Jeju provincial authorities to put a greater effort in improving working conditions for irregular workers.

제주도청 및 도 산하기관의 비정규직 인원은 전체 공무원 6511명 가운데 31.2%인 2037명으로 10명 중 3명은 비정규직인 것으로 조사됐다. 민주노총제주본부와 전국공무원노조 제주본부, 민주노동당제주도당 등은 25일, 제주도청 및 산하기관에 대한 비정규직 실태조사 분석결과를 발표, 비정규직에 대한 근로기준법 위반 사례가 아직도 존재하고 있다며 비정규직 처우개선에 대한 적극적인 노력을 기울일 것을 제주도당국에 요구했다.
