The number of offenders in charge of violation of election law, related to the May 31 local elections rises up to 166. The Jeju District Public Prosecution`s Office announced December 1 that it had arrested 166 offenders by November 30th when the statute of limitation on the local elections had expired. Of the 166 offenders, 86 had been indicted including 4 taken into custody and 30 had not been prosecuted. The prosecutors finalized their probe on election illegalities except for the cases related to illegal money for political activities.
116명 입건, 86명 기소
5.31 지방선거와 관련, 공직선거법 위반 등의 혐의로 입건된 도내 선거사범은 모두 116명에 이르고 있다.
1일 제주지검은 5.31 지방선거의 공소시효 만료일인 지난 달 30일까지 116명의 선거사범을 입건해 구속기소 4명을 포함, 86명을 기소하고 30 명에 대해선 불기소 처분했다고 밝혔다.
공소시효가 끝남에 따라 정치자금을 제외한 선거사범에 대한 수사권은 종료됐다.
