Local police have uncovered 107 illegal gambling halls this year. The number of game rooms being caught is 70 in Jeju-si and 37 in Seogwipo-si. Modifying game machines accounts for most violation cases. Recently the police uncovered 3 more game lands(1 in Jeju-si, 2 in Seogwipo-si) which violate the regulations. The owners of those game halls have been arrested on charge of an offense against laws concerning music, videos, and games.
경찰, 불법 게임장 107곳 적발
경찰은 올 한해 불법 사행성 게임장 107건을 단속했다. 지역별 단속 건수는 제주시 70건과 서귀포시 37건이다. 위반 사례는 게임기를 개조하거나 변조하는 행위가 대부분을 차지하고 있다. 경찰은 최근에도 게임기를 개.변조한 게임랜드 3곳(제주시 1.서귀포시 2곳)을 적발했다. 경찰은 단속된 업주에 대해선 음반.비디오물 및 게임물에 관한 법률위반 혐의로 입건하고 있다.
