At the policy coordinating meeting, the superintendent Yang Sung-un announced that much attention should be paid to students and parents lest they should feel insecure concerning food poisoning which had recently happened in some middle and high schools of the capital area. “Although our schools’ food safety conditions are free from health hazards due to their direct meal service, thorough instructions and supervision on food sanitation should be given to schools in order to prevent the outbreak of food poisoning during the summer months.” he said.

양성언 제주도교육감은 26일 기획조정회의를 주재한 자리에서 최근 수도권 일부 중.고교에서 사상 최대규모의 급식사고 발생, 파문이 확산되고 있는 것과 관련해 “학생과 학부모들이 먹는 것을 가지고 불안해하는 일도 없도록 유념해 달라”고 강조. 양 교육감은 “도내 학교급식의 경우 100% 직영체제로 운영되고 있어 위탁급식에 따른 안전사고와는 무관하다”며 “그러나 여름철을 맞아 식중독사고 등이 발생하지 않도록 학교급식에 대한 위생 지도ㆍ감독을 철저히 하라”고 지시. <본지 6월 27일 기사>
