Rainy Season Next Month

It is expected that this summer will have more terrible heat and earlier rainy season than usual. In its weather reports for this summer, the Korea Meteorological Administration(KMA) says that the North Pacific high pressure, the source of hot weather, will move northward earlier than usual, causing hot temperatures in early June and rainy season in late June.
According to monthly weather forecast, the average temperature and the precipitation in June will be about 16-23 degrees Celsius and 106-279 millimeters respectively.
Those figures are higher than average for this time of year.

올해 여름은 초반부터 무더위가 기승을 부리겠고 장마도 평년보다 일찍 시작될 것으로 보인다.
기상청은 23일 ‘2006년 여름철 예보’를 통해 더위를 몰고 오는 북태평양 고기압 세력이 예년보다 일찍 북상하면서 6월 전반에 고온 현상이 나타나겠고 장마도 예년보다 빠른 6월 중순 후보부터 시작되겠다고 예보했다.
월별 기상전망을 보면 6월 평균 기온은 평년(16~23℃)보다 높겠고 강수량도 평년(106~279mm)보다 많을 것으로 예측된다.
